فَتَعَالَى اللَّـهُ الْمَلِكُ الْحَقُّ ۗ وَلَا تَعْجَلْ بِالْقُرْآنِ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يُقْضَىٰ إِلَيْكَ وَحْيُهُ ۖ وَقُل رَّبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا
“So high [above all] is Allah, the Sovereign, the Truth. And, [O Muhammad], do not hasten with [recitation of] the Qur’an before its revelation is completed to you, and say, “My Lord, increase me in knowledge.”
Bidayat al-Hidaya is a highly motivational manual detailing the fundamentals of acquiring guidance through God-consciousness (taqwa). Imam Ghazali argues that just as there is an end to this noble objective there is also a beginning to it, which must be made firm for one to achieve success. He then goes on to expound the fundamentals of this “beginning.” While being concise and to-the-point the manual is laid out in the form of a detailed daily timetable providing the reader strong inspiration and much heart-rending counsel.

This class will be using the book “The Beginning of Guidance: The Imam and proof of Islam” by Imam Abu Hamid Al-Ghazali, available for purchase by clicking the image below.

This class is designed to teach how to read Arabic. We will teach the Arabic letters, vowels, basic rules of tajweed (Qur’anic recitation). Students will have weekly opportunities to read in class and practice writing. By the end of the course, they will inshaAllah leave being able to read the Qur’an.
Students must come to class with a notebook, and be prepared to take notes. This class is a prerequisite to the advanced tajweed course.

Students will be learning more advanced tajweed (Qur’anic recitation) rules, such as:
- Review of Reciting the Quran I
- Rules of noon sakina
- Rules of meem sakina
- Five levels of tafkheem
- Turuq of recitation
- Differences between Qira’at
There will be an emphasis on reciting to the teacher and sharpening one’s own recitation.
Class Expectations: Students must come to class prepared to take notes with their own personal notebook.
Must be able to read Arabic verses of the Quran.
Students who have taken Reading the Quran or Reciting the Quran I are recommended to take this class.

The ISBCC Quran School covers the following subjects:
- Hifz (Quran Memorization)
- Quranic Arabic
- Islamic Studies (Fiqh & Aqidah)
Ages 5+ are welcome. There are discounts for families with multiple students.

Sundays 10 am – 1 pm
School is off on major holidays.
