Job Description

Title: ISB Sunday School Administrative Assistant

Position Summary:

Islamic Society of Boston is seeking a passionate and dedicated administrative assistant to join our Sunday School team at ISBCC. Our Sunday school plays a vital role in nurturing the next generation, fostering a love for Islamic knowledge, and building a strong sense of community. We are looking for someone who is committed to creating an engaging, supportive, and enriching learning environment for students of all ages. The administrative assistant at the ISB Sunday School will be working closely with the School Principal to ensure smooth operation of the school academic session from Oct 2024 - June 2025. This is a part-time position, 12-15 hours per week. The salary range for this position is $18 - $22 per hour depending upon the experience, education and skills of the candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing and distributing school emails and communications and responding to inquiries and troubleshooting questions and concerns in consultation with the Principal
  • Closely partner with the school Principal in daily operations of the school
  • Monitoring the school tuition collection process and financial aid while ensuring accurate record keeping of all the transactions
  • Maintain and organize student records in our school management system, including attendance, grades ensuring all files are up-to-date
  • Keeping organized records of class allergies and medical conditions ensuring confidentiality of the information
  • Demonstrating excellent customer service skills while answering phone and scheduling meetings with prospective or current parents and also coordinating school yearly calendar
  • Creating marketing materials for the school
  • Ordering and record keeping of school supplies and book inventory as needed
  • Willingness to cover/sub for a school teacher as and when required
  • Implement and support school policy and procedures to ensure compliance
  • Plan and organize teacher orientation, training and meetings

Weekly Schedule:

  • Every Sunday: (In-person) 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • One Weekday: (In-person) 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree with 2 year of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of professional working experience
  • Previous experience in an administrative or clerical role, ideally within a school setting
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient in Google Suite and basic office equipment
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Bilingual abilities and cultural competency are a plus.
