Excited for My New Role!

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

Dear ISBCC Community Members,

I pray this message finds you in the best state of islam, iman and ihsan.

As communicated by the Board, I am excited to take on the position of Director of Strategic Relations and Public Affairs for both the ISBCC and ISB.

The last year and a half on the Barr Fellowship has really helped me reflect on my strengths and passions – relationship building, development, and public advocacy. Already I had been contemplating how I could better align my role with these skill sets, so that I may be able to better serve our community. Alhamdulillah by Allah’s grace, this new role comes at a perfect time. I am grateful to the ISB Board for its flexibility in allowing me to move into this position, which makes sense for both the organization moving forward and for me.

Serving as your ED for the past 6+ years has been an extraordinary and unforgettable experience. As I transition to this new role, I am overcome with a sense of deep, deep gratitude to Allah first and foremost and then to our amazing ISBCC staff, inspiring volunteers, phenomenal partners, and each of you supportive community members. Together, Allah has allowed us to weather storms (e.g. Marathon bombing) and to move our community forward (e.g. growing our youth programs, building our strong public standing, and anchoring our masjid in Shaykh Yasir’s Prophetic leadership). Thank you!

I would be remiss, of course, not to note that I have made many mistakes while serving as your ED. Thank you for your patience throughout the years. I kindly request any of those whom my actions have harmed to please forgive me.

Please make duas for tawfiq (good fortune from Allah) for the ISBCC, ISB and my family and me as this transition happens. With your duas and our collective efforts, I am confident that we will find a great ED that will take all of our institutions to greater level of impact for His sake.

Jazakum Allahu Khairan

Your brother,
Yusufi Vali
