Being
Muslim

Being Muslim is a course designed to assist the Muslim individual in meeting their individual obligations (Fard alAyn). It is authentically narrated that the Prophet (PBUH) said “Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim” (Ibn Majah, 224). Scholars interpreted this hadith to indicate the necessity for every Muslim to have the basic knowledge needed to perform the required acts of worship upon every Muslim such as prayer, fasting, pilgrimage and Zakat. In this series of workshops, the course will cover critical areas of the relationship between the individual and their obligations. Topics include the pillars of Islam how to pray, basic beliefs. In addition to the individual obligation the course will introduce students to other critical areas such as Dua, and selected topics in spirituality.
