ISBCC Quran School

Welcome to the ISBCC Quran School. Students will learn three topics in the school:

  • Quranic Arabic (reading & writing)
  • Hifz (Memorization)
  • Islamic Studies (Fiqh and Aqidah)

Class Holidays

For the Fall semester, the school will meet every weekend except for the following holidays:

  • October 6-7 (Columbus Day)
  • November 10-11 (Veterans Day)
  • November 24-25 (Thanksgiving)

The last day of class will be on December 16, and after that is winter break.

Homework for 12/09

Note: The last day of class (final exams) is December 16. Registration for the next semester will be released soon and emailed to parents.

Level 1

Ages 5-6

Islamic Studies (Br. Faris & Br. Humza): Parents: Invite your kids to pray with you throughout the week.

Beginner Arabic (Sr. Syryn & Sr. Issra): No homework.

Hifz (Sh. Abdelmeneim & Br. Abdul Qadir): (1) Memorize the first four ayahs of Surah al-Kafiroon, and (2) Review all previous surahs.

Level 2

Ages 7-8

Islamic Studies (Br. Humza): Review the 5 prayer times. Parents: Invite your kids to pray with you throughout the week to start building the habit.

Beginner Hifz (Sh. Abdelmeneim): Review surahs recited in class.

Intermediate Hifz (Br. Abdul Qadir): (1) Memorize Surah al-Fil (2) Review previous Surahs.

Beginner Arabic (Sr. Syryn): Complete the assignment given in class.

Intermediate Arabic (Sr. Issra): Finish preparing your study deck for the final exam. Your deck should consist of 8 cards in total. Then, practice reading through your study deck 3 times in preparation for a practice exam in class. To prepare your study deck, choose and write one word on each deck from the following pages in your workbook:

  • Pg 57 Choose 1 word

  • Pg 58 Choose 1 word
  • Pg 63 Choose 1 word
  • Pg 67 Choose 1 word
  • Pg 84 Choose 1 word
  • Pg 85 Choose 1 word
  • Pg 93 Choose TWO words

Again, your deck should consist of 8 cards in total, with one word on each card.

Level 3

Ages 9-10

Islamic Studies (Br. Faris): Remember to bring a notebook and pencil to class.

Beginner Hifz (Sh. Abdelmeneim): Review surahs recited in class.

Intermediate Hifz (Br. Abdul Qadir): (1) Memorize Surah al-Fil (2) Review previous Surahs.

Beginner Arabic (Sr. Syryn): Complete the assignment given in class.

Intermediate Arabic (Sr. Issra): Finish preparing your study deck for the final exam. Your deck should consist of 8 cards in total. Then, practice reading through your study deck 3 times in preparation for a practice exam in class. Beginner Arabic (Sr. Syryn): Complete the assignment given in class.

Intermediate Arabic (Sr. Issra): Finish preparing your study deck for the final exam. Your deck should consist of 15 cards in total. Then, practice reading through your study deck 3 times in preparation for a practice exam in class. Your deck should consist of one word on each card, as follows:

  • 3 cards basic harakat, pg 57-58

  • 3 cards w/ each type of tanween, pg 63,67, 71
  • 3 cards sukoon, 84-85
  • 3 cards shadda, 94, 100
  • 2 alif+laam words, From the Quran
  • 1 phrase Quranic phrase (provided)
Level 5

Ages 13-16

Islamic Studies (Br. Humza): (1) Read and reflect thoughtfully on the Quran for 5 minutes every day. Keep track of how many days you successfully do this. (2) Write down one fo your reflections to hand into class if you did not last time. (3) Reach out to your “Quran buddy” if you have one, to encourage them.

Beginner Hifz (Sh. Abdelmeneim): Review surahs recited in class.

Intermediate Hifz (Br. Abdul Qadir): (1) Memorize Surahs al-Fil and al-Humazah. 2) Review tajweed rules learned in class. (3) Review previous Surahs.
