Sphere of
Lived Spirituality

“It is He who has sent among the unlettered a Messenger from themselves reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom – although they were before in clear error”
[Quran 62:2]

Throughout the year of 2016 Shaykh Yasir has taken the community on a journey through the Four Prophetic Spheres through a series of Khutbah and Halaqa. Check out the playlist below to journey through the sphere of Lived Spirituality.

The sphere of Lived Spirituality is the sphere of ihsan, which translates to spiritual excellence. Ihsan is putting your knowledge into action and performing your ibada with a focus on nothing but Allah. The ISBCC offers a number of programs throughout the year for the community to put their Lived Spirituality into action.

Spheres Lived Spirituality

TeamFajr is an experience that is designed to transform the way we understand the spiritual practice of the morning prayer. Join your community as we pray together to Allah in the early morning hours, practice important remembrances (adhkar), recite the Holy Qur’an in small men and women circles, and finish with a communal breakfast.

Every other Sunday. Check the program calendar for exact timing.

Being Muslim

Spheres Lived Spirituality, Knowledge

Did you grow up Muslim or embraced Islam as an adult but were never formally taught your individual obligations (e.g. prayer, wudu, salat)? Or perhaps you just need a refresher to make sure you are doing everything right? Join Shaykh Muhammad Shaakir (bio) and Shaykha Suad Mohamed (bio) in a series of monthly workshops that will give us the basic knowledge to practice our individual obligations (fard al-ayn) to our Creator. Every workshop will focus on a particular area of worship. Subjects to be covered will be tahara (wudu, gusl, etc.), prayer, fasting, pilgrimage, zakat, aqeeda (basic beliefs), dua, and selected topics in spirituality.

The Being Muslim program is currently on hiatus but normally happens on the last Sunday of every month.

Spheres Lived Spirituality

A maqra’a is the traditional method of teaching Quran. This course, led by Imam Mohamed Nabeel, aims to provide students with a deeper relationship with the Book of Allah through two means: recitation and correction. Everyone is welcome, especially those who struggle to read Arabic.
