“So high [above all] is Allah, the Sovereign, the Truth. And, [O Muhammad], do not hasten with [recitation of] the Qur’an before its revelation is completed to you, and say, “My Lord, increase me in knowledge.”
Throughout the year of 2016 Shaykh Yasir has taken the community on a journey through the Four Prophetic Spheres through a series of Khutbah and Halaqa. Check out the playlist below to journey through the sphere of Knowledge.
Imam Mohamed Nabeel
This class is a continuation of the Monday Tajweed class taught by Imam Muhammad from Fall 2016 to Summer 2017. The Monday Tajweed class covered the rules of Tajweed (e.g. the rules of madd, the rules of light and heavy letters, idghaam and ikhfaa, etc.) The continuation of this course will cover the different makharij, or articulation points, of Arabic letters. In addition to studying the location of letters, students will practice pronouncing the letters by reciting Quran to Imam Muhammad. Students will receive immediate feedback to improve recitation, in particular concerning the formation of the Arabic letters.

In this course, we will endeavor to learn about the characteristics and the etiquettes of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.). We learn the Prophetic etiquette, his internal and external state, the way he looked, the way he walked, and the way he talked, all of which would be categorized under the Shama’il. The hope is that we learn in intimate detail who the Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) was in his personal conduct and in his description so that we can emulate him to the best of our ability. The more intimate we know him (P.B.U.H.) then, God willing, we will be able to see him in our dreams and see him on the Day of Judgement and in the afterlife. The great practice of our scholars was to every year read the description of the Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) in order to immerse themselves in his personal description. This, God willing, is what we hope to do. We hope to continue in the Sunnah of our scholars. But more importantly to immerse ourselves in the person of the Prophet Muhammad, may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him.

In Creed (Aqeedah) level one, the student will be introduced to the basics and foundational principles of our religion. Aqeedah is essential to one’s faith because it is the most noble of the sciences. It is our theology. It is Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala). It is our belief. Learning Aqeedah is fulfilling one of the fundamental foundations of our religion, which is outlined in the Hadith of Jibril. Proper theology and the correct understanding of Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) is a precursor to establishing true commitment to Him. Shaykh Yasir’s Aqida intensive is a pre-requisite to this course. For more information on the Aqida Intensive email SpiritualDevelopment@masboston.org.
